Are you a Reception, Year 1 and/or Year 2 Teacher or Leader looking to secure firm foundations in the development of good number sense for all children? 

The Mastering Number Programme covers all number and numerical patterns aspects of the Early Years curriculum and supports Year 1 and 2 pupils to develop fluency with number.

What does it involve? 

  • Attendance at half-termly online, professional development workshops. Separate sessions will be held for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 lead teachers; usually at different times on the same morning or afternoon. Very small schools that have a Reception/Y1/Y2 class with a sole teacher will need to release the teacher for the whole morning or afternoon to attend all three sessions. 
  • regular contributions to an online community, reflecting on the implementation and impact of the programme 
  • Engagement with evaluation of the programme

Who will be leading the group?

Julie Marston

Julie is a Primary Maths Teaching for Mastery Specialist and NCETM PD Accredited lead. Julie has a Masters in Primary Maths, specialising in Variation Theory, MaST qualification and excellent experience across the full range of primary classes.
