Leading Mathematics: Enabling Sustainable Change – Mastering Number in YR and KS1 for Teachers and TAs with less experience

Thursday 26 September, Thursday 16 January, Thursday 27 March Online

LIST B

Do you have Teachers and/or Teaching Assistants with limited experience of the Mastering Number programme in YR and KS1?

This pathway will support them to develop their understanding of the materials and key approaches to teaching and learning.

Led by a Primary Mastery Specialist, you will work collaboratively to refine and improve your teaching. Evidence-based, and in line with EEF recommendations, this model of Professional Development is designed to support substantial long-term change.

Who will be leading the group?

Julie Marston

Julie is an experienced Primary Teaching for Mastery Specialist and NCETM Professional Development Accredited Lead. She has a master's degree in primary maths and has worked across the Primary age range, including Early Years. Julie continues to engage with research-based PD and is currently undertaking the School Development Lead accreditation.

Who is it for?

For Maths Subject Leaders and Teachers/TAs in schools that have completed at least 1 year of the programme and are currently working with Mastering Number in YR, Y1 and/or Y2.

What will it involve?

All pathways follow the same format of 3 half-day workshops, with school-based tasks.

To allow for the greatest impact from engagement with the pathways, leaders are encouraged to discuss school-based tasks with their staff following workshops and schedule time for their completion.

What is the cost?

DfE funded so free to all participating schools.
